WHAT IS BOCCONCINI?
Bocconcini are a type of mozzarella cheese, originating in Naples, characterised by a semi-soft, white, rindless, unripened texture and mild flavor. This type of cheese is made in the pasta filata fashion with whole cow's milk, resulting in a softer consistency than other mozzarellas such as fior di latte. Its Italian name translates to "small mouthfuls", and each cheese is around the size and shape of a hardboiled egg.
